Summary: “Guys.” Maja looked between Pete and Patrick. “I think we have a problem.”
“No.” Patrick shook his head, determined. “Repeat with me, Maja. Everything is perfectly fine.”
“We really have a problem.” Maja bit on her lower lip, actually a bit scared by Patrick’s glare. - Set one month after the epilogue of Vampire hunting is the world’s oldest profession (And I, dear Madame, am a professional).

“What’s going on?” William almost ran into Tom as he reached the top of the stairs. Before the boy could reply, Bryce joined them and William’s gaze fell on Pete quickly carrying someone upstairs. “Gabe!” He almost yelled as he recognized the now unconscious figure.
“Call Maja.” Patrick ordered to the group behind them.
“I’ll go.” David ran down the corridor, while Pete headed for William and Gabe’s room.
“What happened? How’s he?” William walked next to Pete, but had to let him enter first. “Pete.”
“I don’t know.” Pete admitted as he put the body on the bed. “Everyone out, except Bill. Patrick, get the stuff.”
The group stayed back in the corridor and Patrick quickly walked towards their bedroom, where they had been keeping the medicines and the first aid kit after Jon had moved out. A couple of minutes later he came back, and saw Maja was already in the room, while Billie Joe had joined the group in the corridor.
William kept silent and climbed on the bed on the opposite side, facing Pete and helping him take off the vampire’s shirt.
“What happened?” Maja asked as she helped Patrick with the first aid kit.
“I don’t know.” Pete shook his head, not looking up from Gabe’s wounds. “He said something about demons.”
“Shit.” Maja looked up sharply and immediately reached the door. “I’ll tell BJ to bring blood.” She added before she walked out and ran towards her lab.
“Gabe.” William whispered, his hand caressing the vampire’s forehead. “Wake up, please.”
“If it was a demon, he has the venom in his body.” Pete explained, glancing at the door. “We need Maja’s stuff.”
“Gabe.” William repeated, taking the vampire’s hand in his own. “I’m sorry.”
“Bill.” Patrick walked near William with a worried frown. “Maybe it’s better if you wait outside.”
“No.” William quickly shook his head, not looking away from Gabe’s face. “I’m staying with him.”
“Believe me, you don’t want to be here.” Patrick insisted, and William turned to look at him. “At all.”
William locked his eyes with Patrick’s and understood that maybe the werewolf had a good reason to want him outside. He nodded slowly and looked one last time at Gabe, feeling his heart clench.
“Go downstairs.” Patrick placed a hand on William’s shoulder and guided him towards the door. “The basement. Somewhere far from this room.”
William felt his heart sink low in his chest at those words. “Make him better.” He looked at Pete, tears starting to well up at his eyes when he saw the unsure look in the vampire’s eyes. “Please.”
Patrick nodded and William opened the door, then quickly walked outside. He went towards the stairs, ignoring Travis’ questions and Tom’s worried gaze on him. He saw Maja running upstairs with her stuff, helped by Sisky and Vicky, and heard Billie Joe reaching the room with the blood.
“Bill.” Bryce followed him downstairs and frowned when he saw the vampire was headed for the basement. “Bill, where are you going?”
William just kept walking and after several seconds he found himself in front of the cell Gabe had been locked up months before. Cell number three.
“Bill.” Bryce slowly reached him, afraid he could do or say something wrong.
“Here.” William whispered, opening the cell. “I met him in this basement, he bit me in this cell.”
“He’s gonna be okay.” Bryce tried to reassure him, but he knew it was a lost cause.
“Why?” William asked, sitting on the floor with his back against the wall. “Every time it takes this. Someone has to get hurt or to get killed before I realize how stupid I’ve been the whole time.” William continued, while Bryce sat next to him. “Every single fucking time.”
“It’s not your fault.” Bryce’s hand tentatively reached for William’s. “You were angry.”
“For what?” William slowly shook his head. “For a few stupid words I know he didn’t mean. I’ve been a jerk and it’s my fault if he was out there.”
“Bill--” Bryce started to say, but William stopped him, barely restraining the tears.
“I need to be alone.” William didn’t look at him and broke the contact of their hands. “I need you to go.”
“I don’t think it’s a good idea.” Bryce tried to make eye contact with William, his hand reaching the vampire’s chin.
“I think it is.” Tom replied from the doorstep, glaring at Bryce. “I’ll stay with him.”
The werewolf saw the raw hostility in Tom’s eyes and nodded slowly, standing from his seat. He looked down at William, who avoided his gaze and kept looking at the hard floor of the cell. When Bryce walked out, Tom closed the door and sat down next to William.
“I thought you needed time to think.” Tom’s voice was soft, but the edge of anger in it was clear enough. “Somehow I missed the bit where you said it involved fucking the first guy who crossed your way.”
“I’m not fucking Bryce!” William’s head shoot up and he looked at Tom wide-eyed. “I-- he kissed me, but it was-- I didn’t mean to kiss him back. It’s not gonna happen again.”
“I’m sure Gabe will be happy to hear that.” Tom, chuckled, unbelieving. “You should really tell him, if he wakes up.”
“Fuck you.” William didn’t try to hold back his tears this time. “You think I’m not feeling fucking awful enough?” He quickly stood up and turned to look at Tom. “I kissed Bryce last night and I didn’t call Gabe to ask him to come home.” Red tears started to run down William’s cheeks. “I fucking kissed another guy and Gabe was out there getting killed!”
“Why did you do that?” Tom stood as well, not trying to reach his friend. “You felt lonely? You needed someone who could take Mikey’s place?”
“I wanted to hurt Gabe!” William yelled, his voice halfway between desperate and angry. “I fucking wanted to hurt him even if I knew I was the one to blame.”
“See? You said it.” Tom finally walked near the other vampire, pulling him in a hug. “Next time you want to think, ask yourself the right questions.”
“Tom, I can’t lose him.” William let out a shaky breath, burying his face in Tom’s neck.
“You won’t.” Tom closed his eyes and placed a kiss on William’s temple. “He’s stronger than you think, he’s got a good reason to fight.”
William was about to reply, but a loud cry from upstairs stopped him. “Oh God.” William whispered, Gabe’s voice sharply cutting at his heart with every scream. Several minutes later the cries stopped, but not William’s tears.
“You should lie down.” Tom finally broke the hug, trying to look at William in the eye.
“I need to go.” William shook his head, his voice broken. “I need to see him.”
Tom looked at him for a couple of seconds, then nodded and let him go, watching as the vampire ran out of the cell and upstairs.

Later that night
“Gabe didn’t wake up yet.” Maja closed the door of the room she shared with Billie Joe and saw the man sitting on the bed. “Bill’s with him.”
“Is he gonna be okay?” Billie Joe quickly stood, a worried frown on his face.
“Yeah.” Maja nodded slowly, taking a deep breath. “It’s been tough, but he’s strong.” She let Billie Joe hug her and closed her eyes. “After we finished he was conscious long enough to tell us it was two demons.”
“Two?” Billie Joe withdrew to look at her in the eye. “Demons don’t do teams.”
“Apparently these do.” Maja sounded just as worried as the man, but her voice also showed how tired and drained she felt. “It went on for hours.”
“Good thing he won’t remember the healing process.” Billie Joe watched as she sat on the bed, closing her eyes again.
“Everyone else will.” Maja let herself fall back on the bed, sighing heavily. “Especially Bill, he heard Gabe’s screams from the basement.”
“I don’t want to be cynical or anything, but…” Billie Joe sat next to the girl, his voice cautious. “If this forces Bill to make a decision, it’s not gonna be all bad.”
“Yeah.” Maja opened her eyes and looked at her boyfriend. “I think everything will work out just fine, eventually.” Billie Joe showed a little smile and the girl mirrored it.
“Don’t get me wrong, I like it here, but this place doesn’t know what peace means.” Billie Joe took Maja’s hand in his own and looked at her.
“I know.” She admitted, the smile still on her lips. “But I’m not ready to leave them.”
“I’m not asking you to.” Billie Joe lied down on his side, facing her. “We can be happy here.”
“Between a mess and the next.”
“Hey, it’s the first time I stop in a place for so long.” Billie Joe brought his free hand to her face, caressing her cheek with the knuckles. “I’m happy here.”
“What if Dirnt or Tré wanted to leave? To get back on the road?” Maja leaned in the touch, and her eyes met Billie Joe’s.
“I don’t think it’ll happen.” The man reassured her, and Maja felt better at the sincerity in his eyes. “Dirnt likes this place way too much, and Tré… I don’t think I could get him to leave even if I tried.” Maja tried to say something, but Billie Joe placed a finger on her lips. “They’re like brothers to me, I’d never force them to stay, just like they’d never force me to go.” Billie Joe leaned forward, smiling, and rested his forehead on Maja’s. “If they ever wanted to leave this place, I’d simply let them go.”
“You have no idea how happy I am to hear that.” Maja admitted in a whisper, not breaking eye-contact. Billie Joe just smiled again and placed a soft kiss on the tip of her nose.

William knew he didn’t need to sleep, but for some reason it was all he wanted to do. He felt exhausted and he was starting to hate himself for not being able to stop crying. He was lying next to Gabe, his hand holding the unconscious vampire’s one, and his cheeks were stained with fresh tears.
Pete had told him they had gotten all the venom out of Gabe’s system and he wasn’t going to be in pain when he woke up. William had nodded and just kept looking at Gabe, hoping to see his eyes open. On the desk there was still some of the blood Billie Joe had brought from the stash, but William knew it wasn’t going to be enough.
Patrick had stayed with him for several minutes, explaining him that Gabe had been attacked and that he was alive only because he fought really hard. William hadn’t needed Patrick to tell him the other part of the speech, Tom had already done that in the basement, so Patrick had just left them alone, giving him one last worried glance.
When finally, after maybe a couple of hours, Gabe moved and started to wake, William quickly sat up, his eyes fixed on the vampire’s face.
“Holy fucking shit.” Gabe muttered, opening his eyes. Then he saw William and his expression hardened. “Bill?”
William didn’t speak, just made eye-contact with the vampire, then he brought Gabe’s hand to his mouth and kissed his knuckles as more tears ran down his cheeks. He’d never cried that much, not even the night he had read Mikey’s letter for the first time. He couldn’t quite define the desperation that had been tearing at his heart, and he knew that it was partly due to the bond between him and Gabe and the whole Sire thing.
“Bill.” Gabe repeated, and his gaze softened.
“I’m sorry.” William whispered, his voice hoarse from all the crying. “I’m sorry for pushing you away, I’m sorry for hurting you, I’m sorry for what I did.” He knew Gabe didn’t know about Bryce yet, but he needed to apologize. “I’m sorry it took this.”
“Nothing changed, Bill.” Gabe tried to sit up against the headboard and William helped him. “I’m still the guy you yelled at.”
“You are. And you’re still the guy I love more than my own life.” William added, shifting closer. “I’m sorry.”
“I’m sorry too.” Gabe pulled him even closer, closing his eyes.
“There’s something I need to tell you.” William closed his eyes and pressed his cheek against Gabe’s shoulder.
“I know.” Gabe’s tone was unreadable, and William looked up, surprised. “I smell him on you.”
William looked away at those words and bit on his lips. “It was just a kiss.”
“I guess he keeps his human form now, then?” Gabe’s voice was flat, and William felt his heart clench.
“I don’t know.” William turned to look at Gabe in the eye. “I don’t care.”
“I’m just glad it wasn’t Tom.” Gabe admitted, tilting his head to place a kiss on William’s temple. “Your ex-boyfriends always bring up a hell of a competition.” He added with a little smile.
William let out a little relieved laughter at that, and he couldn’t help the tears that fell from his eyes at the realization that yeah, he and Gabe were going to be okay.
“I love you so fucking much.” William turned his head and let his lips brush Gabe’s as he talked.
“I missed you, dollface.” Gabe admitted, smiling just before he stole a quick kiss. Then he brought his hand up to wipe William’s cheeks. “No William, no cry.”
William laughed at that, and buried his face in Gabe’s neck, taking a deep breath. “I missed you too.” After a couple of seconds he realized Gabe was slightly shaking. “You should feed.”
“I think it’d be a good idea.” Gabe nodded, spotting the blood on the desk.
William eyed it too, but hesitated a few seconds, biting on his lower lip. “Maybe you could… I mean, it’s not like we never did it before.”
“Bill, you’re a vampire now.” Gabe frowned, not sure he’d understood what William was trying to say. “Feeding on another vampire is… different.”
“I’ve read about it.” William admitted, looking at his boyfriend. “I know we need to…you know, work things out and get back to… to us, but I think it could be the right thing to do.”
“It’ll be a blood bond, it’s the strongest bond between vampires.” Gabe frowned a bit, visibly worried. And yeah, that kind of scared William a little bit.
“Maybe it’s what we need right now.” William sat up, making eye-contact. “As nice as he’s turned out to be, Pierre is a constant reminder of what you were.” He explained, seeing Gabe’s gaze harden. “This would be an even stronger reminder of what we are now. I want this, I want us.” Gabe’s eyes widened, slightly surprised at that. “Along with the mating thing, if you still want it.”
“I still want it, only if you’re sure about it.” Gabe whispered as he brought his hand to William’s neck and drew him closer. “At one condition.” He grinned and placed a kiss on the corner of William’s mouth. “Stop kissing other guys. Unless I get to watch.”
“Dork.” William laughed, but knew Gabe meant the first part, despite the joke. “That includes cuddling with Ryan too?”
“No, you’re allowed to do that.” The older vampire nodded slowly. “But no tongue.”
“Gross!” William quickly shook his head and it was Gabe’s turn to laugh. “It’s Ryan! He’s like, my brother!”
For several seconds neither of them talked, they just sat on the bed, looking at each other. Eventually William moved and pulled off his shirt, then straddled Gabe’s lap and looked at him in the eye.
“You sure about this?” Gabe asked, his fingers caressing William’s neck softly. “It won’t be the same, there’s no going back from a blood bond.”
“It feels like it’s the first time all over again.” William admitted with a smile. “Don’t worry about me, just take whatever you need.” And Gabe knew William was talking about more than simple blood.
“I love you.” Gabe whispered on his lips, just before he lowered his head.
William let out a soft whimper as Gabe’s fangs sank in his neck, barely an inch above his collar bone. The sensation was nothing like the other times, and the plain pleasure that shot through his body made William’s back arch sharply. When Gabe moaned in the back of his throat, the sound ran down William’s spine and directly to his cock. It was too much and too strong and William knew he wasn’t even going to have to touch himself.
“Gabe.” William whispered, closing his eyes as his hands clenched at his boyfriend’s naked shoulders. In reply, Gabe just sucked harder and William moaned out loud, nails digging in the other vampire’s skin.
One of Gabe’s hand was resting on William’s hip, gripping it tightly, and the other moved to the front of William’s jeans, stroking forcefully.
“Gabe, don’t, I’m gonna--” William barely repressed a scream when Gabe’s fangs sank even deeper and another shot of pleasure ran through him. It was still too much, too good, bordering on painful, and somewhere in the back of his mind, William knew he shouldn’t have wanted it to go on forever.
Eventually, Gabe withdrew slowly and his tongue lapped at the deep wound on William’s neck, while his hand kept stroking him through his jeans.
“Kiss me.” Gabe tilted his head up, his voice hoarse and barely recognizable. “Bill, kiss me.”
William looked at him and saw a hungry light in his eyes he’d never seen before, and he crashed their mouths together. He tasted his own blood on Gabe’s tongue and he knew he should have been grossed out about it, but he damn sure wasn’t.
The obscene moan that escaped William’s lips almost made him blush, and Gabe grinned as he pushed his hand again against William’s cock. The young vampire broke the kiss and threw his head back, the taste of blood still strong on his tongue as he moaned loudly again and came with a violent shudder.
“Just wait until you’re ready to feed on me.” Gabe whispered against his neck, his voice filled with lust and wonder. “This will be nothing.”
William looked down at him, still shaken by his orgasm, and pulled him in another kiss. “I love being a vampire. And make up feeding is way better than make up sex.”
Gabe laughed at that and raised his hand to move a few strands of hair away from William’s face.
“I’m your Sire, Bill, your blood is special to me.” Gabe explained, his fingers moving from William’s hair to his neck as the boy came down from his high. “The blood I took from you is more than enough to get my strength back.” His thumb stroked the bite mark and William bit on his lip. “With regular blood, it’d take about twice that amount, probably more.”
“Let me guess, a vampire should never let his Sire feed on him.” William rested his forehead against Gabe’s, looking at him in the eye.
“Actually, a vampire shouldn’t be allowed to feed on his Sire.” Gabe corrected him, smiling. “But rules are not my favorite thing in the world.”
“That’s a good thing, then.” William smiled too, then slowly climbed off Gabe’s lap, wincing. “Next time I’ll take my pants off, okay?”
“Go get a shower.” Gabe laughed, lying on his side. “I’ll be fine.”
William lied on his side too and his hand went to touch the mark on his neck. “Is it gonna stay?”
“It’ll take a while to fade, it’s not a regular wound.” Gabe bit on his lower lip and William saw the guilt in his eyes. “Sorry about that.”
“I like it.” William confessed, placing a kiss on Gabe’s lips. “I thought you knew I like to have your marks on me.”
“Kinky.” Gabe grinned and William rolled his eyes. “Go take a shower before you turn the bed into a mess.”
William shifted closer and rested his head on the pillow, his hand finding Gabe’s. “I don’t wanna leave you yet.”
“I’ll be right here when you come back.” Gabe reassured him, a little surprised by William’s words.
William seemed to think about it for several seconds, then propped himself up on an elbow and kissed Gabe slowly. He stood without a word and headed for the door, stopping to glance at Gabe just before opening it.

Later that night (or, well, morning)
William and Gabe walked in the kitchen together, and everyone turned to look at them.
“Already up?” Pete glanced at Gabe, surprised and worried at the same time. Then he spotted the mark on William’s neck. “Oh.”
“I guess you two are okay then.” Tom arched an eyebrow, addressing them a little smile.
“We are.” Gabe confirmed as they sat down. “We’re back to our old, sappy selves.”
“That’s good to hear.” Maja said from the doorstep, sporting a wide smile. She walked to where Gabe was sitting and placed a kiss on his forehead. “I think I already said this before, but next time you pull a trick like that on us, I’ll personally kill you.”
William laughed and saw Ryan smile sweetly at him from the counter, while Brendon basically screamed as he entered the kitchen in that exact moment, followed by Patrick.
“I missed breakfasts in this place.” Gabe grinned as soon as Brendon let him breathe again and Patrick addressed him a meaningful nod. Brendon reached Ryan and placed a kiss on his shoulder, gaining a smile from him.
“This house missed you too.” David quickly walked in, taking the seat next to Gabe. “I’m entitled to say it ‘cause I’ve been here for a while.” He continued as Gabe looked at him with an arched eyebrow, not sure if he wanted to be angry or amused by David’s presence. “Anyway, glad to see you’re back in the game, and really, I think we should start anew ‘cause last time I kind of talked too much and you know, things got complicated.”
“Do you ever shut up?” Pete’s voice showed a clear edge of wonder and William laughed.
David waved vaguely in Pete’s direction and just kept looking at Gabe. “I won’t mess up again and I’ll try to think about what I say. Like, really really try.” Gabe let a little grin stretch his lips and David leaned forward. “Pretty please with a naked William on top?”
“Fine.” Gabe gave in, shaking his head. “You could be funny to have around.”
“Yay!” David clapped his hands once and turned towards the other hunters. “Shouldn’t we be talking about sex, now?” Patrick pressed his palm against his face, unbelieving, and Pete laughed hard.
“Where’s Bryce?” Brendon stole a pancake from the plate Ryan was preparing and got his hand slapped.
“In his room.” Patrick replied with a neutral tone, and Pete immediately understood something wasn’t right.
William tensed slightly at the question and Tom addressed Gabe a weary look. Brendon didn’t seem to notice, and Gabe just turned his head and placed a small kiss on William’s neck, right on the bite mark. The young vampire turned to look at him, surprised, and smiled softly.
“Aww, you’re so cute.” David batted his eyelashes at them and Gabe flipped him off without looking at him.
David was about to express just how offended he was, when the doorbell rang. There were just a few hunters who knew the code to disable the alarms at the gate, so it had to be one of them.
“I’ll get it.” Joe yelled from the hall, and a few seconds later the werewolf was walking in the kitchen with a smile. “Visits.”
“Joncer!” David almost jumped out of his chair and hugged Jon.
“What the hell is a Joncer?” Jon asked, confused and a bit taken aback.
“Jon and Spencer, Joncer.” David explained as he turned to hug Spencer too, but stopped when the hunter gave him his best ‘do it and I’ll make you wish for death’ stare. “Aww, I missed the bitchface.”
“Who the hell is this guy?” Spencer looked around and saw everyone was sporting a wide smirk.
“Spencer, meet David Desrosiers, our friendly spirit… friend.” Brendon replied, beaming.
“You mean the David Desrosiers who got killed in this house centuries ago?” Spencer looked at David wide-eyed.
“Yep.” David nodded enthusiastically. “Hence the ‘spirit’ part.” Then realization hit him and his smile widened even more. “You know about me, that’s so cute.” David tried to hug Spencer again, but the hunter moved faster and hid behind Jon.
“Stay the hell away from me, you bouncy, crazy ball of spiritual energy.” Spencer glared at him, keeping Jon between himself and David.
“I like ‘spirit’ better, you know?” David corrected him, grinning.
“Creepy psychic phenomenon.” Spencer retorted, and Jon burst out laughing.
“Hey, you’re being mean now.” David pouted, but it lasted just a second, then he smirked again. “We have a lot of things in common. Like… I spent a lot of time in the library in the last years, just like you. And Jon.” David saw several people at the table grin at that. “And I have to say, I like how Jon’s brain works too.”
Brendon gave in and laughed at that, and Spencer felt his cheeks burn up, while Jon stared at David with his mouth opened in shock.
“I’m gonna find a way to kill you again, I swear.” Spencer growled, his hands closed in fists.
“Guys.” Patrick addressed them an amused glance and gestured David to sit back in his chair. “Let’s talk about something else, okay?”
“Thanks.” Spencer muttered, glaring at David and sitting on the opposite side of the table.
“Uh, right.” Jon nodded and reached his boyfriend, his smile gone. “I think you won’t like the new topic, though.”
“We have a problem.” Spencer added as his expression turned serious again.
