Disclaimer: Gabe and William aren’t mine ç_ç they belong to each other themselves. Actually no one in here belongs to me, and it’s so sad.
I really don’t mean to offend anyone and nothing of what I wrote in this story is to be considered real, it’s all fiction.
Author’s Notes: Pete being a vampire and hunting others vampires is kinda taken from FOB’s video for “Sixteen candles”, all the other stuff is a product of my twisted mind.
Title from Cobra Starship’s “Prostitution is the world’s oldest profession (And I, dear Madame, am a professional)”.

Chapter 1
In his late years, Gabe Saporta had come to consider himself a peaceful, harmless, even funny vampire. He rarely killed anyone, when he fed he always left his victims where they could be easily found and rescued, and sure thing he never wanted to be part of any clan ever again.
Clan leaders were usually fanatical, downright crazy and always up to some kind of war. Especially always up to some kind of war, and Gabe didn’t like wars, not anymore.
So he smiled to himself as he laid his victim on the floor of the dark lane, making sure the tiny body could be seen from the near street. Well, yeah, he might have had a thing for skinny boys, but he was a vampire after all, and all he craved was tasty blood, and maybe a little fun from time to time. They could ensure him both, always going for willing preys who apparently didn’t have problems sleeping with him. The blood usually came after the sex. In the past he wouldn’t have cared about willing or not, but he wasn’t that vampire anymore.
Tonight though, he wasn’t up for anything more than a drink, his victim was barely sixteen, way too young for him to coax the poor boy in bed. Forcing wasn’t an option. So he leaned down and passed a thumb on the bite, wiping away a small amount of blood. He licked his finger with a pleased smile, then fixed the cap he wore under the hoodie and started to walk towards the crowded street, fully intentioned to find a better prey for bed.
Apparently someone didn’t agree with his plan, because strong hands grabbed him from behind and something heavy hit his head. He barely had the time to register a strong, well-known scent before passing out.
~~
“He’s downstairs, Pete.” Jon informed with a smile, obviously proud of his work. So okay, Pete had caught him, but he’d left him passed out in that alley, leaving the rest of the job to Jon and Spencer.
“Good.” Pete looked thoughtful and didn’t glance at Jon, who simply stood there, waiting for something else.
“Is everything okay?” Spencer frowned, worried.
“No.” Pete stood from his chair and headed outside. “Put someone in charge of Saporta and meet me in the hall, both of you.”
With that Pete was gone, leaving behind a confused Jon and a worried Spencer. “I’ve never seen him like that.”
“Something’s not right.” Spencer replied, biting on his lip and looking at Jon. “Go with him, I’ll go find William and meet you downstairs.”
“You’re putting William in charge of Saporta?” Jon stifled a laugh, then quickly headed outside when Spencer glared at him.
~~
When Gabe woke up he was welcomed with the feeling of cold grey stone under his body. He looked around and saw that the walls and ceiling were just as grey as the floor. On the wall in front of him there was a heavy door, probably iron, with a little window, big enough to look inside through thin bars. The only light came from there, but Gabe didn’t need light to see.
He looked at his cell and frowned, realizing that it was completely dark and completely empty, except for the chains attached to his wrists. He pulled them tentatively and noticed they weren’t fixed to the wall, but went in the wall.
Gabe turned his head when he heard the door being unlocked and slowly opened as the light started to flow in.
“Am I dead?” Gabe asked with a fake worried tone, going for the ‘hey, don’t kill me, I’m funny’ attitude.
“Yeah, I think you are.” An amused voice replied, and a boy entered the room, bringing an electric torch with him. He pressed a switch on the wall and the big lamp on the ceiling came to life. “But this joke is about as old as you are.”
Gabe looked as the boy turned and addressed him a wary look. He had quite long brown hair, pale skin and a lean body that made him look fragile and probably younger than he really was.
And he was not a vampire. Definitely. Gabe could feel his body emitting sweet, tempting, entirely human heat.
“Who are you?” Gabe tried to stand, but the boy took a step back and eyed him suspiciously.
“I’m William.”
“And where am I, William?”
“You know where you are.” A little smirk came back to William’s mouth and Gabe somehow felt slightly reassured.
“Okay, wrong question, why isn’t he here, beating the shit out of me?”
William laughed, actually laughed, truly amused by Gabe’s words. “Just stop questioning your luck. I’m just here to check your cell is safe.”
“For me?” Gabe joked, knowing the answer.
“For me.”
“He didn’t bring me here to kill me, did he?” It was Gabe’s turn to laugh, and he stood slowly.
“You’re planning on keeping me here.”
“That’s up to Pete to decide.”
“Of course.” Gabe grinned, watching as William headed to the door.
“Get comfortable, you’re not going anywhere any time soon.”
With that the door closed and Gabe found himself alone in the empty room, the light still on. He sighed and sat back down, his back against the stone of the wall.
~~
“He looked nice.” William sat down in the big library, looking at the fireplace. Pete had always had a good taste for houses, and that mansion looked like it had been taken right out of a history book. Only Pete could find one in Illinois, just out of Chicago.
“Looked being the key word.” Mike sat down next to him, a little smirk on his face. “He’s not.”
“I’ve heard the stories too, you know?” William grinned back, bumping his friend’s shoulder with his own. “I’m just saying.”
“Well, don’t let Pete hear you.” Mike relaxed in the couch, savoring the warmth coming from the fire. “About that, any idea why he left in such a hurry?”
“Dunno. Spence said he looked worried, or angry, or something equally unusual for him.”
Before Mike could reply, Ryan entered the room, quickly followed by a laughing Brendon.
“Do you ever spend any amount of time not glued to each other’s ass?” William asked with a wide grin, watching as the two boys sat on the couch across from the one where he and Mike were sitting.
“You’re just jealous.” Ryan grinned back, slowly crawling in Brendon’s lap to emphasize his words as Brendon just kept giggling.
“What’s so funny, Bren?” Mike asked, arching an eyebrow and grinning.
“Oh, nothing, we were just debating over the latest news.” Brendon stopped laughing and Ryan shook his head, amused. “We heard you’re Gabe Saporta’s jailer.”
“He’s a kind of celebrity around here.” Ryan added, looking at William.
“He looks nice.” William shrugged, a smirk stretching his lips. “Didn’t try to bite the hell out of me like last one, at least.”
“I feel your money in my pocket, sweetheart.” Brendon grinned, looking at the boy sitting in his lap. Ryan slapped him on the back of his head and Brendon just kept grinning at Mike and William’s curious faces. “You see, there’s a bet about you, Bill.”
“I love my friends.” William muttered, trying to hide his amusement but not quite succeeding.
“What’s the bet about?” Mike asked, grinning like mad.
“How long it takes for Bill to shag Saporta.” Brendon explained, and William glared at him. “C’mon, we saw the guy!”
“And apparently he likes them young and skinny.” Ryan added with a knowing smirk.
“And someone has a thing for fangs.” Mike looked at William then at Brendon. “I’m in.”
“I do not have a thing for fangs!” William looked half amused half annoyed, and Brendon just laughed again.
“You totally do.” Ryan said, grinning like mad.
“He could kill me. I’m not that desperate for sex.” William laughed, not believing his friends really thought he was going to have sex with Gabe Saporta. The Gabe Saporta. The cruel, coldhearted killer he’d heard so many times in hunters’ stories.
“Not if he’s tied up.” Brendon shrugged and William’s eyes widened as he shook his head.
“You did not just say that.” William burst out laughing again and the others quickly followed.
~~
The following night Pete went out again with Patrick, Jon and Spencer, without explaining what he was looking for. William shrugged away the thought, knowing that if something turned out to be dangerous, they were going to know. Pete kept a few secrets from them, but never about the mansion, or a possible threat, just about himself.
William unlocked the door and stepped inside, finding Gabe with his back against the wall, focused on something on the ceiling.
“I followed that spider for hours, he likes that corner.” Gabe explained pointing at a small spider that quickly wandered to the corner of the room on the right side of the door.
“I don’t like spiders.” William didn’t look up and focused on Gabe, frowning. He was attractive, very attractive, and he had a nice smile. Warm, reassuring. For fuck’s sake, stop staring at him, Beckett!, he told himself, shaking his head.
“How was your day, William?” Gabe asked, his smile firm in place despite William’s weird behavior.
“Less boring, I guess.” William sat on the floor, studying the vampire, a little smirk stretching his lips now. “My friends think I’ll have sex with you.”
And really, William had no fucking clue why he had said that out loud, but the surprise on Gabe’s face was completely worth it.
“I like your friends.” The vampire grinned, relaxing against the wall and looking at William. “They’re smart.”
“You’re a killer.” William arched an eyebrow, but kept smirking.
“Not anymore.” Gabe’s eyes went back to the spider, trying to hide something from William’s view. Regret?
“Why would I believe you?”
“Are you actually thinking about having sex with me?” Gabe’s expression changed in a second, and he looked highly amused as he moved his eyes again to William. “’Cause I’m totally up for it, you know?”
William laughed, standing slowly. “Sorry, Saporta, no sex for you today.”
“Gabe.”
“What?” William asked, looking at him with a frown.
“Call me Gabe.”
William hesitated, looking straight into Gabe’s eyes, surprised to see something very similar to resignation. It’s a trap, he’s smart. He’s just trying to get a free pass for escape, his head told him, and he bit on his lip.
“Goodnight Saporta.”
With that he headed outside and closed the door, not waiting for a reply.
~~
A day later
When Pete came back it was almost dawn, and William had fallen asleep in the library, his head resting on Mike’s shoulder as his friend had kept reading.
He woke abruptly when the door was slammed open, Pete making his way inside with Patrick, Spencer and Jon.
“What the fuck, Pete!” William muttered, stretching his neck and addressing Mike a little apologetic smile. “Some people actually try to sleep at night.”
“Brent fuckin’ Wilson is back.” Pete’s words were enough to wake William completely. They hadn’t seen Brent Wilson since he’d left the house three years before after a rather violent fight with Brendon and most of the other hunters over…well, Ryan.
“Apparently he’s got a little group following him. All young vampires, no one really dangerous.” Patrick explained as the group sat down in the library. “But we think he’s planning something.”
“Did you find him?” Mike asked, his book abandoned on his legs.
“No.” Pete sighed, shaking his head. “I don’t like it. That little fucker was supposed to stay away from Chicago.”
“Are you gonna kill him?” William looked directly at his boss and friend, equally worried.
“I seriously hope he’ll give me a reason to.” Pete muttered, looking at the fire, the flames reflecting on his pale cold skin. “We gotta warn Brendon and Ryan.”
“I’ll go tell them.” Spencer headed outside and Jon followed him, knowing it wasn’t a nice news to tell and not wanting him to do it alone. Pete watched them go and sighed, then turned towards his friends.
“He’s been in town for two weeks, so he probably has a place or something.” Patrick informed, looking at Pete’s now relaxed features.
“We’ll find him and we’ll beat the shit out of him. Hopefully he’ll get the message and bring his ass somewhere else, for good.” Pete looked less worried than before, and the group nodded, relieved. “What about our new friend?”
“He’s behaving.” William replied with a shrug. “Didn’t attack, didn’t insult, didn’t bite. You sure you got the right Gabe Saporta?”
“Damn sure. Don’t fall for it, he’s nice to all his victims.” Pete smirked, shaking his head.
“He says he’s not a killer anymore.” William relaxed back on the couch, putting his feet on the coffee table and yawning. “You said the guy in the alley wasn’t dead.”
“That’s why he’s still breathing. I was going to kill him, but I wanna find out more about his supposed pseudo-vegan conversion.” Pete replied, looking at William with a curious smile. “What, you’re already planning on shagging him?”
“No, not you too!” William raised his hands and Pete laughed.
“’m kidding.” Pete stretched his neck, smirking in a very unsettling way. “I’d chew his hands off and eat them with French wine if he laid a finger on you.”
“Wow Pete, I’m deeply touched.” William addressed him a sarcastic smile, then stood slowly. “I’ll go to sleep some place where vampires with a disturbing sense of chivalry won’t come and wake me in the middle of a very good dream.”
“Disturbing is you having a very good dream while sleeping on my shoulder.” Mike dodged William’s playful slap, and laughed.
“Sorry to break your heart Mike, but it wasn’t about you.” William grinned as he headed to the door.
“Right, it was about Saporta.” Pete replied, causing Mike to burst into laugh and Patrick to shake his head, amused.
“Fuck off, Pete. Seriously.” William laughed despite his own words as he opened the door of the library and stepped outside.
~~
“I smelled you the moment you laid your pretty foot on the top step of the stairs.” Gabe said as soon as William opened the door of his cell.
“That’s really creepy.” William grinned and arched his eyebrow at the same time.
“You smell good.” Gabe shrugged, considering his words enough of an explanation.
“It’s still creepy.” William laughed, putting a small bag on the floor.
Gabe watched him for a few seconds, not saying a word and trying to figure out what was in the bag.
“You’re here to torture me?” Gabe asked, titling his head to the side, curiosity clear on his face.
William’s head snapped up and he burst into laugh, sincerely amused. “Well, if you consider Dickens and Wilde a torture, then yes, I’m here to torture you.”
Gabe frowned, half amused half confused by William’s reply. Then the boy took out what he had in the bag, and the vampire’s frown slowly faded into a surprised smile.
“You…you brought me books?” Gabe was taken aback, clearly not expecting William to do something like that.
“I thought…” William hesitated, biting on his lower lip, sure Gabe was going to laugh at him. Then he realized he shouldn’t care. “I thought it was better than the spider.”
“It is.” Gabe nodded, the smile still on his face, and William was surprised to notice it wasn’t teasing or sarcastic, just pleased. “Trust me, it really is.”
William stood and kept the books in his hand, looking at the switch on the wall, his eyes focusing on the four buttons. He pushed the left one and slowly the chains started to be dragged in the wall, forcing Gabe to stand.
“Kinky.” Gabe grinned as the chains stopped, his body pressed against the wall, his arms secured on his sides. “I wonder if Wentz has a couple of these in his bedroom too.”
“That’s an image I really didn’t want to have, thank you.” William laughed, walking closer to the vampire.
Gabe watched him laugh and smiled too, feeling the words rise to his lips and doing nothing to stop them. “You’re pretty when you laugh.”
William looked up at him, a suspicious grin on his lips. “I told you Saporta, I’m not having sex with you.” He put the books down on the floor near Gabe’s feet and stood again, finding himself just inches from him. “And I’m always pretty.” William added, leaning towards the vampire and biting on his own lower lip, careful to stay far enough to be safe.
“You’re right.” Gabe chuckled, watching him intently. “And you’re a huge, walking flirt.”
William grinned and slowly walked back to the switch, pressing the second button from left. The chains started to come out from the wall, but Gabe stood where he was.
Once the chain had stopped William opened the door, picking up the empty bag. “Have fun.”
“William.” Gabe called before the door closed, and the boy came back, curious. “Thanks.”
William smiled and nodded, heading outside and shutting the heavy door.

Two days later
“William, d’you happen to know where Dorian Gray is?” Mike asked from the stair he was using to get to the top shelf.
“Saporta has it.” William replied without looking up from his own book, writing something on his note book.
“What?” Mike asked, frowning, sure he hadn’t heard what he thought he’d heard.
“I brought him some books a couple of days ago, one was Dorian Gray.” William explained, turning the page of the ancient volume he had on the desk.
“And why exactly did you bring him books?” Mike climbed down from the stair and looked at his friend, confused.
“He was bored.” William shrugged and looked up, meeting Mike’s gaze.
Mike was about to reply, but the door opened and Patrick walked in, looking around.
“Please, tell me that stubborn ass didn’t go out.” There was no need to specify Patrick was talking about Pete.
“I’m afraid he did. I saw him head out about half an hour ago.” William frowned, standing slowly. “Something’s wrong?”
“Ryan is gone.” Patrick announced, shaking his head. “Someone took him.”
“Brent?” William’s face paled as he saw Patrick nod slowly. “Where did he take him?”
“We don’t know. I’m afraid that’s what Pete wants to find out.”
“Jon and Spencer are with him.” Mike informed, looking directly at Patrick. “Brendon sure as hell went too.”
“What?” Patrick almost yelled, and William was slightly taken aback. Patrick never yelled. Never.
“A vampire and three humans against a nest isn’t that --” Mike tried to say, but the look in Patrick’s eyes made him shut up.
“Stay here, I’ll go find them and kick your boss’ ass for good.”
Without even waiting for them to reply, Patrick was out, faster than light.
“I guess he’s the only one who can even think about kicking Pete’s ass.” Mike said with a little smile, but it didn’t last. Ryan was gone. In Brent’s hands.
Nothing good could come from that.
~~
Pete came to a stop in the middle of an empty park, his senses catching something interesting. He could recognize that scent anywhere. A big wolf jumped right in front of them, after an apparently very long run. His golden fur reflected the moonlight and Pete showed a little smile. As a reply the wolf growled and started to transform.
“Give me a good reason not to kill you.” Patrick quickly reached the group, pointing a finger at Pete.
“I’m too awesome to die?” Pete tried, knowing Patrick was just going to get angrier.
“Go home.” Patrick seemed to calm down, and that surprised Pete.
“That son of a bitch took Ryan!” Brendon yelled, walking up to Patrick. “We cant’ just…I can’t go home and do nothing about it!”
“It’s a trap.” Patrick shook his head, thinking about a way to calm Brendon.
“That’s exactly right.” Pete said, the smile gone from his features. “That’s why we’re not looking for Brent. We’re just sending a message.”
The group looked him, confusion showing on their faces, and Patrick frowned. Without an explanation Pete resumed walking.
“Pete, we can’t --” Brendon was cut off by Pete’s hand on his shoulder.
“We’ll get him back.” Pete reassured him with a little smile. “But for now we can’t do anything else than wait and hope Brent gets the message.”
“What message?” Brendon shook his head, confused.
“That we’re looking for him, and we’re very very pissed.” Patrick replied for Pete, showing the boss a little smile, glad the plan wasn’t to just go around and chase the bastard.
